After the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia has announced the following details related to the Queen’s Counsel designation:
- All patents of Queen’s Counsel remain in effect, however QC’s have automatically become KC’s.
- The patent of a Queen’s Counsel creates an office at the pleasure of the Crown.
The Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society is currently updating its records to reflect the automatic change from QC to KC
