Property Paralegal – Fitch Violande, Barristers & Solicitors

Fitch Violande, Barristers and Solicitors, is seeking a paralegal to primarily assist the firm with property law. The ideal candidate will have between 2 and 5 years experience in handling real estate transactions such as purchases, sales, and refinances, with a strong working knowledge of the Land Registration Act and Nova Scotia Property Online. Familiarity with the Divorce Act, Matrimonial Property Act, and Parenting Support Act, and the ability to complete family law documents would be an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to real estate transactions;
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to family law matters;
  • Communicating professionally with clients, lawyers, and other third parties via phone and email;
  • Managing family and property law files, ensuring deadlines are appropriately calendared and completed;
  • Assisting lawyers and support staff as required;
  • Updating client records in PC Law as required;
  • Performing conflict checks;
  • Doing bank deposits; and
  • Performing general file management and related administrative and reception tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an efficient manner with a strong attention to detail. This a full time (35 hours per week) position, from Monday to Friday. This is an in office position from 8:30a.m. until 4:30p.m.
