Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Lawyer with a strong interest in commercial law, real property transactions, and estate planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to develop a broad, community-based practice with an experienced, collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a range of commercial law matters, including incorporations, reorganizations, and commercial transactions
- Conduct and manage residential and commercial real estate transactions
- Advise clients on and prepare wills, powers of attorney, and estate plans
- Assist with estate administration matters
- Support and develop other areas of the law as your interests develop and opportunities arise
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver practical legal advice
- Work both independently and collaboratively within the firm
Qualifications
- Member in good standing (or eligible for membership) with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society
- New calls with relevant interest encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated interest in commercial, property, and estate planning law
- Strong organizational, drafting, and communication skills
- Ability to manage files efficiently and meet deadlines
- Commitment to providing excellent client service
- Interest in community engagement, volunteerism, and contributing to the local community
