The Society’s Gender Equity Committee (GEC) conducted a survey in September 2022 to address lawyers’ experiences with gender-based harassment and discrimination in legal workplaces. We are pleased to present the findings in this report

Some media covering the February 6, 2024 Nova Scotia Court of Appeal ruling on Howe v. Rees, 2024 NSCA 16 implied the Court’s decision related to the disbarment of Mr. Howe. This inference requires clarification.
The Society’s Nominating Committee will nominate a candidate for Second Vice-President in the months to come. Members who reside outside of the Halifax Regional Municipality are invited to provide recommendations or to volunteer to be considered.
