Paralegal and Executive Assistant

Cresco, a leading new home construction, land development and property management company, is seeking the services of a Paralegal for their head office in Bedford, Nova Scotia. The position is available immediately.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the VP Corporate Development, the Paralegal will carry out legal coordination and executive assistant duties. This role is responsible for supporting the activities of the Corporate Development and Corporate Services team and the Chief Executive Officer, including coordinating legal matters, and supporting general corporate services and business development, government relations, and marketing initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-Review and edit legal agreements and manage the flow of legal information.
-Manage corporate registrations and filings, prepare basic corporate documentation, maintain corporate org charts and registries.
-Collect and prepare information for meetings with staff and outside parties.
-Provide calendar management and organizing and scheduling of meetings.
-Assist with special projects, designing and producing complex documents, reports, correspondence, and presentation materials.
-Maintain contact lists, filing, maintain reminder systems to ensure Corporate Development group projects and tasks are completed in a timely manner, and carry out other administrative activities.
-Communicate directly with staff and third parties on behalf of the VP Corporate Development, the Chief Executive Officer, and/or the Company.
-Assist with organizing and managing events and provide hospitality to guests.
-Other projects/duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

-5 to 10 years relevant experience.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-Strong verbal and communication skills.
-Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
-Must be able to think critically and independently, make informed decisions and exercise good judgment.
-Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
-Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance and ability to switch gears at a moment’s notice.
-Paralegal diploma and/or university degree is an asset.

Other desired skills/abilities:

-Ability to design and edit graphic presentations and materials.
