Feed Nova Scotia is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who would like to serve on our Board of Directors.
Serving on our Board is an opportunity to contribute your skills, experience, and perspective to an organization working at both the frontline and systems levels to address food insecurity across Nova Scotia.
About the Role
Board members are responsible for providing strategic oversight, fiduciary governance, and leadership in support of Feed Nova Scotia’s mission and values. Directors serve three-year terms, beginning at the Annual General Meeting in June, with the possibility of one additional renewal.
As part of our current recruitment, financial expertise would be a strong asset. Individuals with a CPA designation or equivalent experience as a financial professional (e.g., accounting, finance, audit, risk management, or senior financial leadership) are especially encouraged to apply. Opportunities exist to contribute to the Board’s financial oversight and, over time, to take on broader leadership responsibilities.
Our Commitment to JEDDI
Feed Nova Scotia is deeply committed to Justice, Equity, Diversity, Decolonization, and Inclusion (JEDDI). We believe that effective governance is strengthened by diverse lived experiences, identities, and perspectives.
We strongly encourage expressions of interest from individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences from historically underrepresented or marginalized communities, including those who are part of the 2SLGBTQI+ community. We welcome applications from all candidates who share our values and interest in advancing food justice.

About Feed Nova Scotia
Feed Nova Scotia collects and distributes approximately seven million pounds of food annually to more than 130-member food banks, meal programs, and shelters across the province. In addition to supporting food access, we work alongside our member agencies to build capacity and advocate for long-term, policy-based solutions to food insecurity.
While responding to immediate need, we also work to address root causes such as systemic racism, inadequate incomes, and housing insecurity, with the goal of a future where no one must rely on charity to meet their basic human rights.
