As we approach the end of June, we are given an opportunity to reflect on the purpose of Pride Month: Acknowledging the history of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, the fight for 2SLGBTQ+ rights both past and present, and the celebration of gender and sexual identity. While Pride Month is coming to an end, there are still many events in the coming months that recognize, support, and celebrate the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Nova Scotia and beyond.
In this spirit, we would like to extend to the legal profession an invitation to the 18th Annual Pride Reception, co-hosted by the Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity Community Section of the Canadian Bar Association – Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society.
The reception will be on Thursday, July 14th from 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at Casino Nova Scotia in the Compass Room. The speaker at the reception will be Rhiannon Makohoniuk, the Executive Director of the Rainbow Refugee Association of Nova Scotia.
If you are interested in attending, RSVP by Monday, July 11th to Kerry Foss at [email protected].
We hope to see you there!
