Consistent with law societies in many other jurisdictions, NSBS has been experiencing significant cost increases in recent years. The Society has been absorbing many of these costs, in large part, by applying internal budgetary measures.
We are now at the point of implementing a Council-approved fee increase of $213 per practising licensee for the fee year July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.
This increase will enable the Society to remain effective in upholding and protecting the public interest in the practice of law—by ensuring lawyers deliver competent and ethical legal services in accordance with the professional standards of the legal profession.
