Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society offices will be closed on Monday, September 30, 2024 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. October 1, 2024 marks the beginning of Nova Scotia’s 31st Mi’kmaw History Month.
NSBS Council is pleased to report it has accepted the Nominating Committee’s recommendations to appoint Michelle Kelly, KC as First Vice-President of the Society, and to nominate Candace McCarthy as Second Vice-President of the Society—both for the 2024-2025 Council year.
The Nova Scotia Court of Appeal will be visiting Sydney, NS, in September, including hearing three of its appeals in the September/October docket in the community of Membertou. This is the first time the Court will sit outside the Law Courts in Halifax, and NSBS members are welcome to attend.
