We are a litigation law firm located in downtown Halifax. Our legal assistants play a substantial role in the administration of our firm. We are collegial and effective and are looking for a new team member to join us.
We are looking for a new litigation assistant to provide support for our litigation lawyers. This will involve traditional litigation functions such as the preparation, delivery and filing of litigation documents, including motion records, facta, briefs of authorities, trial records and the like, in both electronic and hard copy formats, as the case may be; preparation and delivery of correspondence and general organization of materials including electronic and hard copy filing and document organization; and scheduling, booking examinations, making transportation arrangements etc. Additional administrative responsibilities as may be assigned could include assisting with banking functions online and in person at the bank, interacting with couriers and process servers, welcoming and assisting visitors to the office, and collaborating with other staff members to assist where and when needed.
We will consider candidates ranging in experience from two years to senior litigation assistants, with compensation dependent on skills and experience. The successful candidate will have good facility with and ability to learn software, ideally at least with Office applications. Experience with Adobe Pro, and document management software skills will be an asset. Good problem-solving abilities, collegiality and ability to work with others are all necessary.

Salary: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
