Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Lawyer with a strong interest in commercial law, real property transactions, and estate planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to develop a broad, community-based practice with an experienced, collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a range of commercial law matters, including incorporations, reorganizations, and commercial transactions
  • Conduct and manage residential and commercial real estate transactions
  • Advise clients on and prepare wills, powers of attorney, and estate plans
  • Assist with estate administration matters
  • Support and develop other areas of the law as your interests develop and opportunities arise
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver practical legal advice
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within the firm

Qualifications

  • Member in good standing (or eligible for membership) with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society
  • New calls with relevant interest encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated interest in commercial, property, and estate planning law
  • Strong organizational, drafting, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage files efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to providing excellent client service
  • Interest in community engagement, volunteerism, and contributing to the local community
