
The Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society is seeking a practising lawyer to serve on the Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission’s Board of Directors.
The Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission delivers legal aid services in offices located throughout the Province. While offering a degree of support to all Nova Scotians, Nova Scotia Legal Aid focuses on providing support for the most vulnerable and historically disadvantaged members of the province, including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Immigrants, and economically disadvantaged persons.
The successful candidate will serve as the Society’s nominee on the NSLAC Board. Criminal, Family Law, and Governance experience is an asset, and all practising lawyers from across Nova Scotia are invited to apply.
NS Legal Aid values diversity and welcomes applications from all equity deserving groups. Applications will be reviewed by the NSBS Nominating Committee, which will make recommendations to the Government of Nova Scotia for the final decisions.
