After a special NSBS Council meeting held on January 13th, a motion was approved for Candee McCarthy to assume the powers of the office of NSBS President (i.e. Acting President) until her formal appointment to the office in June 2026 (for the 2026-2027 term).
“This is a moment for steadiness and collaboration, and my priority is ensuring the Society continues its work without disruption,” said McCarthy in a statement to All Nova Scotia.
“I also welcome the opportunity to use this additional time to advance work that matters deeply to me, including governance and policy development, and to support the Society as it moves into the exciting implementation phase of the Ruck Report.”
