The Complaints Investigation Committee of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society gives notice that Mark Bailey of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, has resumed practice and the Committee has imposed conditions and restrictions on his practicing certificate pursuant to Section 37(1)(b) of the Legal Profession Act.
The conditions and restrictions include the following:
- Mark Bailey will limit his practice areas to criminal law, regulatory compliance, and police disciplinary matters involving members of the Halifax Regional Police Association.
- Mark Bailey will have his practice reviewed by a practice reviewer who will notify the Society of any immediate or urgent concerns that are identified during the practice review.
- A practice supervisor, independent of Mark Bailey’s firm, will be appointed. Once the practice supervisor is in place, they will provide regular reports to the Society. The practice supervisor will immediately notify the Society of any concerns with respect to Mr. Bailey’s legal practice.
These conditions and restrictions will remain in place until further notice.
