Upon receipt of a joint proposal from Eugene Tan and from the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Complaints Investigation Committee (CIC) of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society gives notice it has imposed further conditions and restrictions on the practicing certificate of Eugene Tan of Halifax, Nova Scotia, pursuant to Section 37(1)(b) of the Legal Profession Act.

Notice of Receivership: Jeanne Sumbu

The Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society hereby gives notice that, further to the suspension of Jeanne Sumbu of Amherst, Nova Scotia, from practice on May 30, 2024, pursuant to Regulation 4.5.1 under the Legal Profession Act, it has resolved that it is in the public interest to appoint Kelly Mittelstadt as Receiver for the law practice of Jeanne Sumbu, pursuant to Section 51(1) of the Legal Profession Act.
