Updated Criminal Pre-Trial Conference Form for Use in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia

The following notice has been shared on behalf of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia

Wednesday, October 1, 2025 – The Supreme Court of Nova Scotia has further updated the pre-trial conference form that all counsel must complete for criminal matters in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (General Division). This update addresses functionality issues and feedback shared by the Nova Scotia Bar over the past year.

The revised fillable PDF form is available on the Courts’ website here. The form can be filled out on a computer and digitally signed; however, the completed form must still be printed and a hard copy filed with the court.

This form must be completed in full for all criminal cases in the Supreme Court unless otherwise directed by the presiding judge, or unless the accused has advised that they will definitely be pleading guilty and the only issue to be addressed at the judicial pre-trial conference is sentencing.

As always, Crown and defence counsel are encouraged to discuss the anticipated issues in advance of the pre-trial conference and to jointly complete the pre-trial conference form. The completed form must be signed by Crown counsel and counsel of record for each accused individual before the first pre-trial conference.

Any questions on how to complete or file this form should be directed to the Prothonotary at the Supreme Court location where your matter is scheduled. Contact information for all courthouses is available online here.
