The Society is seeking expressions of interest from individuals interested in joining the Professional Standards (Criminal) Committee. In particular, the Committee is seeking members with Defense Counsel experience.
The Professional Standards (Criminal) Committee supports Council in the governance of the Society by developing professional standards for the area of criminal law.
This Committee meets virtually for two hours, five times per year.
If you are interested in becoming a member of this Society committee, please send the following documentation to licensing@nsbs.org:
- A brief expression of interest (max. 1 page) – please describe why you’re interested in joining the Professional Standards (Criminal) Committee, and the attributes and experience you could bring to this committee’s work.
- A brief resume (1-2 pages)
- A completed Skills Matrix
We value diversity on our committees and welcome applications from members of equity-deserving communities. We also accommodate volunteers who wish to attend meetings via video. The Society asks applicants to submit a skills matrix to better understand the skills and backgrounds of members who wish to fill these vacancies.
If you require an accommodation, assistance with preparing an application, or have any questions, please contact our Equity and Access office at equity@nsbs.org.
