POSITION OVERVIEW & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Chorus is looking for a lawyer to join our in-house legal team in Halifax on a full-time, 19-month fixed-term. Your work will be focused on supporting a wide variety of aviation-related legal work, including:
- supporting our subsidiaries’ important aviation-related work in an open and collaborative setting;
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating supplier and customer contracts consistent with industry practice;
- applying legal expertise to everyday aviation challenges in furtherance of subsidiary operations and team goals;
- liaising with our in-house lawyers and corporate paralegal to prepare regulatory filings and responses;
- using your superior eye for detail to spot inconsistencies and errors;
- exercising excellent judgment, time management and organization;
- having superior communication skills, and exhibiting professionalism in all aspects of practice; and
- living in the Halifax area.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will:
- have a keen interest in a wide range of aviation-related matters
- be a practicing member in good standing of any provincial or territorial law society in Canada;
- have strong legal writing skills and exceptional attention to detail;
- have superior client service skills and strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy to develop and maintain good working relationships across a wide array of internal clients;
- be highly organized, self-motivated and proactive, and able to advance work independently;
- be team-oriented with a willingness to collaborate, and have exceptional interpersonal skills;
- have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a commitment to shared success;
- have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including changing priorities, timelines, technologies and processes; and
- have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and other Microsoft applications.
