IESO Nova Scotia is a new organization created by the Nova Scotia Government commencing operations in 2025. IESO Nova Scotia will reform the way Nova Scotia’s energy system is managed by assuming responsibility for managing the power system in real-time, achieving clean energy goals and planning for the province’s future energy needs.

Role Summary:
Reporting to the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, the Legal Assistant is responsible for providing high-quality, positive, and professional administrative support. In the role of Legal Assistant, you will be joining a world-class team that is driving Nova Scotia towards a sustainable energy future.
Responsibilities include:
- Support invoice processing, legal spend tracking, and vendor coordination
- Manage emails, calendars, travel arrangements, and meeting logistics
- Facilitate communication with external vendors, regulators, and partners as needed
- Act as a point of contact between the legal services and other departments
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
- Maintain a calendar of regulatory obligations, deadlines, and filing requirements
- Assist with filings and documentation required by regulatory bodies
- Assist with corporate governance activities, including assembly of board materials, resolutions, and corporate records management
- Maintain organized physical and digital matter files, including data sets and correspondence
You are:
- A high-school graduate with a year of experience in an admin role
- An exceptional communicator with strong client-service focus and professionalism
- Positive in nature and thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Intellectually curious
- Resourceful when it comes to solving problems
- Able to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
- A deadline slayer
- Well organized and invested in the details
- A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
Extra awesome if you also have:
- A Paralegal or Legal Administration diploma
- Experience working in corporate law
