The Society’s At-Large Election, the second phase of the Council Election process following the District Election, elects both practising and non-practising members to fill existing gaps on Council as the Society seeks a diversity of representation.
Through the At-Large Election, the Society seeks to ensure that Council reflects the membership it represents and includes members from:
- equity-deserving groups;
- different practice areas (e.g., corporate, litigation, property, family, etc.);
- different practice venues (e.g., private firm, government, legal aid, etc.); and
- other areas of potential under-representation that may be identified
How to Nominate a Candidate:
- Complete the At-Large Nomination Form
- Complete the Candidate Bio Form
- Send your completed Nomination form and Candidate bio form along with a candidate headshot (.jpeg or .png format) to elections@nsbs.org.
Nominations for the Society’s At-Large Election will be open from Monday, March 17 to Monday, April 7, 2025. All members in Nova Scotia who are in good standing are eligible to be nominated as the Society seeks to elect three At-Large members to Council.
