As we begin our strategic planning process, we want to share some of the issues informing the next phase of our work at the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society (the Society). The last time the Society created a strategic plan was in 2019, and to say much has changed since then is an understatement.
Several shifts over the last four years have challenged decades of conventions. The pandemic reconsidered how and where we work. Strides were made for social change in equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. These, and countless other examples of radical and necessary shifts, have been a source of disruption in our profession and beyond.
