February 15, 2023: Nomination Period for District Council Elections Closes
Nomination forms must be submitted on or before February 15th, 2023.
Notice of Hearing
A Credentials Appeal Panel of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society will hear an appeal of a Credentials Committee decision to deny an Application for Reinstatement. This hearing will commence on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at The Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites, 1960 Brunswick Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 2G6 and will continue on Thursday, January 26, 2023 and Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
The Hearing will be open to the public in accordance with Regulations 3.11.16 and 3.11.17 under the Legal Profession Act. Note that, at any Credentials Appeal Panel Hearing, preliminary motions, regarding publicity ban or otherwise, may be heard and/or a settlement may be proposed.
January 26, 2023: Nomination for District Council Election Open
The nomination period for District Council Elections begins on January 26, 2023 and closes on February 16. 2023.
February 2, 2023: Council Election Information Session
The Executive Committee will host an information session on February 2 2023, from 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. for a hybrid information session to learn more about the role and responsibilities of a Council member.
