Dr. Sharriff will lead us on an impactful discussion on “taking action” on sexual harassment and discrimination in our profession, and about creative ways for employers and organizations to address these issues in legal workplaces.

About our Guest Speaker Dr. Shaheen Shariff

Professor or Dr.  Shaheen Shariff is a James McGill Professor, Director, Define the Line Research Projects, Project Director of IMPACTS: Collaborations to Address Sexual Violence on Campus [SSHRC Partnership Grant], Principal Investigator: SSHRC Insight Grant on Sexting and Cyberbullying, Co-Director, Institute for Human Development and Well-Being (IHDW),  Associate Member, McGill Faculty of Law and Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism and  Affiliate Scholar, Center for Internet and Society, Stanford University Faculty of Law. Dr. Professor Shariff is the recipient of the James McGill Professor, McGill University (2018) award, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for contributions to Canada (November 2012) and Facebook Award on Digital Citizenship (May 2012). Dr. Shariff is also a contributor and assisting the CBA-NS working group developing bystander education training for the legal profession.
