Appointment to Council in the Southwestern District: Are you Interested?

There’s currently a vacancy on the Society’s Council in the Southwestern District for the 2019-2021 Council term. We’re connecting with you because our records indicate that you practice in the Southwestern District.

An appointment process will be used to fill this vacancy on (see Regulation 2.3.5). The Governance & Nominating Committee (GNC) will review all expressions of interest, conduct interviews, and recommend an appointment to Council.

Are you interested in being considered for this position? Please first determine if you are eligible as this appointment is open to practicing lawyers in the Southwestern District.

  • a brief expression of interest outlining why you are interested in the position;
  • a current resume and
  • a completed Skills & Attributes matrix.

Send your completed application to elections@nsbs.org by Thursday, April 18 at 4:00 PM. All names will be considered and will be kept confidential.

The successful candidate will begin their two-year term following the 2019 Annual Meeting on June 15th. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the Council Orientation session on June 14th. New Council members are also welcome to join the continuing and outgoing members of Council in developing the 2019-2022 Strategic Plan on May 9 and 10, 2019.
