2019 At-Large Election Results

Three members were elected to the Society’s Council following the 2019 At-Large Election (April 15-22, 2019). They will begin their two-year terms following the 2019 Annual Meeting on June 15th.

The successful candidates were Cheryl A. Canning QC, Melanie Petrunia and Jack Townsend.  As Council members, these successful candidates will lead the Society and lend their voices and unique insights to decisions that impact Nova Scotia's legal profession. Learn more about the newly elected Council members here.

2019 At-Large Election Election Results 

  • Jack Townsend - 236 votes (19% of votes)
  • Cheryl A. Canning QC - 213 votes (17% of votes)
  • Melanie Petrunia - 204 votes (17% of votes)
  • Brian K. Awad - 179 votes (15% of votes)
  • Diane Rowe - 151 votes (12% of votes)
  • Christine Nault - 131 votes - (11% of votes)
  • Mark Everett - 108 votes (9% of votes)

Voter turnout for this election was 15.39% with 478 votes of a total 3106 eligible voters casting electronic ballots.
