Member position, Atlantic Pilotage Authority (APA) Board

The Government of Canada has launched an open selection process to fill member positions on the Atlantic Pilotage Authority (APA) Board. The application period is currently open and will close at 11:59 pm Eastern Time on July 17, 2017.

The mandate of the Atlantic Pilotage Authority (APA) is to establish, operate, maintain, and administer, in the interest of navigation safety, an effective pilotage service in the Atlantic region. The APA exercises public regulatory authority, and also issues, suspends or revokes pilot licenses and certificates.

The APA’s Board is composed of a chairperson and six members who represent a broad spectrum of stakeholder interests.

The Government’s rigorous approach to Governor-in-Council (GIC) appointments is built on an open, transparent, and merit-based selection process that allows for the recommendation of high-quality candidates who truly reflect Canada’s diversity, and will bolster Canadians’ confidence in important organizations such as the NS Barristers’ Society.
