211 Information and Referral Services Association – Board Member

The 211 Information and Referral Services Association is a non-profit organization, established to provide 24 hour information and referral services to the public for all nature of human, social and community related needs across Nova Scotia. We are looking for an experienced lawyer to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

The role of the Board is to provide strategic oversight in the association’s delivery of 211 service which was launched in February 2013. The organization is experiencing strong growth, having received over 20,000 calls and almost 50,000 website visits during the 2014 operating year. 

The ideal candidate will be an active member of the Barrister’s Society with legal experience in the non-profit sector. We are seeking an energetic individual with well-honed people skills who is looking to improve processes and directly impact results in an organization whose mission is to connect people with information and services, enhance social infrastructure and enable people to fully engage in Nova Scotia’s communities.
