Responsibilities:
As a member of Eastlink’s regulatory team reporting to the Director, Regulatory, you will be responsible to research, identify, analyze and report information relating to various corporate and regulatory issues and policies impacting the company. You will help monitor and advise the business on legislative, regulatory, and policy concerns relating to the communications industry and Eastlink’s corporate compliance.
Additional responsibilities for this role include:
Review and research various online and published resources, prepare summaries and reports, draft regulatory files, written submissions, tariffs and other documentation with the CRTC, Industry Canada and other regulators.
Monitor the progress of CRTC proceedings and prepare summaries of relevant administrative regulatory decisions and policies impacting our business.
Monitor relevant Federal and Provincial legislative changes and developments.
Provide written and oral briefs to senior management and other internal stakeholders.
Research, identify, collect, analyze, and interpret information relating to various regulatory, legislative, and telecommunications policy issues. Provide advice to internal teams based on your research to support Eastlink’s regulatory corporate compliance.
Prepare and review of technical reports associated with the regulatory approvals or compliance requirements.
Requirements:
Post-secondary degree in Law, Political Science, Economics, or Business (and/or specific experience working in a regulated industry with reading/research/analytical skills).
Minimum two (2) years relevant experience.
Experience with reading and interpreting legislation, ability to understand and summarize complex material, and ability to apply this knowledge to assist in corporate decision making based on an understanding of company needs and requirements.
Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills in dealing with legislation, policy and other complex information.
Superior oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and project management skills.
Ability to translate research and information into persuasive, business-focused written submissions.
Highly organized, this person can manage multiple projects with a drive to meet deadlines and thrives in a fast-paced environment while being flexible to adapt to changing priorities.
Familiarity with the telecommunications industry, the current regulatory policy landscape and industry trends would be considered an asset.
Familiarity with privacy laws considered an asset.
Proficient in the use of MS Office based applications.
