Recognizing Orange Shirt Day

Originally an initiative of the St. Joseph Mission Residential School Commemoration Project, Orange Shirt Day events are designed to commemorate the residential school experience, honour the healing journey of survivors and provide an opportunity to come together in the spirit of reconciliation.

Join us to be part of the discussion, including reflections from Jennifer Cox on the importance of truth and reconciliation in the legal profession. We will also offer a free preview of the CBA’s “The Path: Your Journey Through Indigenous Canada” web series and present a new resource for law firms and organizations: “Establishing a Reconciliation Response Plan”.

Special Guest: Jennifer Cox (Nova Scotia Legal Aid and former Co-Lead Counsel for the Commission on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls)

Moderated by: Roy Stewart (Burchells LLP; Chair of CBA-NS Aboriginal Law Section)

Other panelists: Bryna Fraser Hatt (Fraser Hatt Law; Vice Chair of CBA-NS Aboriginal Law Section) and Jane Elise Bates (CBA-NS Executive Director)
