DESCRIPTION:Registration is open until noon of the Thursday before the Online Land Registration Act training program commences. Members can register via the NSBS Member Portal (go to nsbs.org and click on the “Member Sign In” link in the top right corner) under the Events tab. \nCost for this program is $650 plus HST. How should employers and unions approach the investigation of anonymous complaints?\nWhen will an employer be required to investigate the off-duty conduct of employees? What if the off-duty conduct involves violence and harassment?\nWhat information can/should/must be disclosed to a complainant or respondent at the conclusion of an investigation (e.g. findings\, actions taken)? Are unions entitled to a copy of the final investigation report or the investigator’s notes? Are they entitled to a response?\nIn what situations have damages been awarded for an employer’s inadequate investigation or failure to investigate?

DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Woodland Cultural Centre\, the Canadian Race Relations Foundation is pleased to offer Silent No More—an impactful virtual experience designed to encourage awareness\, education and reflection on the legacy of ​Indian ​residential schools in Canada. \nJoin us for the guided virtual tour of the Former Mohawk Institute – one of Canada’s longest-operating ​Indian ​residential schools. \nPlease note that this workshop will not be recorded. \nThis experience takes participants through the 140-year history of the Mohawk Institute\, offering insight into the realities of life within the institution. Viewers will explore key spaces throughout the building\, including the boys’ and girls’ dormitories\, cafeteria\, laundry room\, and other areas\, while gaining a deeper understanding of the lived experiences of the children who attended. Created in collaboration with Thru the Reddoor\, the tour is led by a guide and features reflections and interviews with five Survivors of the Mohawk Institute. Their voices bring depth\, truth\, and a lived experience perspective to the history shared throughout the tour. \nEstablished in 1972 following the closure of the Mohawk Institute\, the Woodland Cultural Centre continues to play a meaningful role in preserving and promoting Indigenous history\, art\, language\, and culture. Through this partnership\, the Canadian Race Relations Foundation and Woodland Cultural Centre aim to support learning and engagement with the history and ongoing impacts of ​Indian ​residential schools.
