On Friday, October 30, 2015, local amateur musicians will take up their instruments to battle for the title of "Halifax's Best" at Rock for Dimes Halifax, a battle of the bands fundraiser. This is the tenth year for the fundraiser. Close to $250,000 has been raised to date in Halifax at this annual event.

This year's costume-musical theme for the “two stages” event will be Country Rocks, where bands will pay tribute to their favourite country artists. Toy Shed (Marc Belliveau & Friends), The Showcase Showdowns (Cox & Palmer), Gene featuring Jean (Pressé Mason), The Goldilocks Effect (Burchells LLP), Terminal Road (N.S. Dept. of Justice), Red C (McInnes Cooper), and Project 501 (Stewart McKelvey) will be competing at the event, at the same time showcasing their talents to music industry professionals.

Rock for Dimes Halifax benefits March of Dimes Canada's Conductive Education® (CE) Nova Scotia Program, an innovative program that blends elements of education and rehabilitation to improve the independence, mobility and confidence of children with disabilities, and has proven especially beneficial to children with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and developmental apraxia.
