The Commons Aboriginal Workshops [on Consultations, Negotiations and Matrimonial Real Property]
The Commons Aboriginal Workshops are a series of in-depth professional development forums. Rather than focus on the broad outlines of topics, each workshop delves intensively into a given topic, utilizing a mixture of lectures, role plays and experiential learning to actively develop the skills of participants.
Participants pick a single workshop. Each workshop lasts two full days. Each workshop presents up to four seasoned and skilled subject-matter experts. Each expert presents more than once, thus offering participants ample opportunities for meaningful interaction.
On the morning of the third day, all three workshops in the series are brought together for a plenary, offering participants a chance to exchange ideas, and to interact with a mixed panel of subject-matter experts. Finally, the series closes with a luncheon and remarks by keynote speaker, Douglas Cardinal.
The Workshops are suited to Aboriginal community leaders & managers; public servants; lawyers; corporate actors; consultants; negotiators and others. Join us in March 2015 for Workshops on:
- Consultations & Engagement,
- Matrimonial Real Property, and
- Interest-Based Negotiations.
