Community Foundation of Nova Scotia’s 2014 Annual Letter to the Community
Introductory message from Robert Orr, Chair, Board of Directors:
As the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia (CFNS) closes a successful 2014 and steps into all the possibilities of 2015 and beyond, we do so with a significant amount of change in our organization leadership. December 2014 saw Dennice Leahey stepping down as Chair of the Board of Directors and assuming the responsibilities of past chair and in November, Allison Kouzovnikov, founding Executive Director of CFNS, resigned to accept a position with one of the country's leading philanthropic organizations. I want to take this opportunity on behalf of the board of directors, our donors and community stakeholders to thank both Dennice and Allison for their years of dedication and tireless efforts. Together, they have built a strong and secure foundation for our organization. We want to stand on the shoulders of their accomplishments with gratitude and a renewed commitment to fulfilling our mission of creating great communities with the assistance of the effective use of philanthropy.
I am very pleased to welcome Angela Bishop to the CFNS family. Angela has been appointed to the position of Executive Director and we feel very fortunate to have her on board. She comes to the foundation with roots in rural Nova Scotia and grew up on a farm. She has a deep commitment to creating caring effective communities and we look forward to the new energies and ideas that she will bring to CFNS.
