Bookkeeper Position

English Law, a small firm in Enfield, NS, is looking for a permanent, part-time bookkeeper. 


Process and pay accounts payable
Prepare invoices and process accounts receivable
Process payrollPerform bank reconciliations for general and trust accounts
Remit HST
Investigate and correct discrepancies/irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports
Daily bank deposits
Prepare Journals, Ledgers, Reports, and other financial documents as needed
Assist with other office duties, including support of other staff members, as needed
Compile necessary information for external accountants to perform Year-End Reviews, Corporate Taxes, and NSBS Trust Audits
Maintain hard and electronic files 


Successful completion of an Accounting Specialist or comparable program, or an acceptable combination of training and experience
Preference will be given to individuals who have training and experience in PC Law. 
Knowledge of Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society requirements for accounting practices (or willingness to learn same)
Previous experience with bookkeeping
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Ability to work occasional full day as needed, typically the last day of each month
