Burchell MacDougall LLP is a full service law firm with offices in Truro, Halifax, Wolfville and Elmsdale.We require a legal assistant for our Halifax office for a 15 month contract commencing November 1, 2018.   The role will include:

  • preparing correspondence and legal documents
  • managing incoming correspondence and emails
  • communicating in a professional manner with clients, courts and others
  • maintaining organized and complete client files
  • preparing legal accounts
  • calendar maintenance, scheduling and organizing

 Qualifications and skills:

  • two years’ prior property and corporate experience in a law firm (preferred)
  • completion of paralegal educational program (preferred)
  • strong computer skills
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent  analytical  skills  with  attention  to  detail
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • excellent proofreading skills
  • ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative
  • willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
