BOYNECLARKE LLP promotes access to justice with free legal consultations

BOYNECLARKE LLP, one of Atlantic Canada’s largest law firms, recently held free legal consultations over a three-day period in celebration of Law Day 2015. The Dartmouth firm invited pre-approved applicants to its offices for a free legal consultation on April 14, 15 and 16. The initiative is intended to give residents in the HRM access to justice.

Jessica Chapman, an associate on the Family Law team, participated for the second year in a row.

“Law Day was introduced as a way to educate the public about the legal system,” she explains. “We want to ensure everyone has access to justice, and an opportunity to have their legal questions answered.”

Various lawyers from different practice areas at the firm volunteered their services to meet with approved applicants and discuss their legal issues in various areas of law.

“Last year was our first year doing this initiative, and it was really well received. It was an easy decision for us to offer it again this year. We are very committed to our community here at BOYNECLARKE. This is an opportunity to give back,” said Ms. Chapman.
