Queen's Counsel process

"The tradition of appointing Queen's Counsel has both meaning and purpose - it singles out those who, by their conduct over more than 15 years, have demonstrated they merit this ancient and honourable title."
- Craig Garson QC

In the fall of each year, the Advisory Committee on Queen's Counsel Appointments considers candidates for the next Queen's Counsel appointments.

The criteria are found in the Information form.

In order to be considered as a candidate for a Queen's Counsel appointment, you must apply pursuant to the request of a given year. The Committee will not consider applications or nominations from previous years.
