Practice management assistance
The Society and LIANS support the Risk and Practice Management program by providing resources and assistance for lawyers in a variety of areas. Ethics advice
The Society provides summary and informal ethics advice to assist lawyers in addressing legal ethics issues. Ethics resources are in the Regulation section, the Best Practices database, and in a variety of Society publications, such as the InForum column, Current Issues in Legal Ethics.

Lawyers can direct their ethics inquiries to the Society’s Professional Responsibility Counsel via telephone at 902 422 1491.

The Society has also developed several resources to assist lawyers in navigating the complaints and investigation process. 

The Nova Scotia Lawyers' Assistance Program (NSLAP)
This is a confidential referral and short-term counselling service for members of the legal profession, their staff and families who may have health or personal concerns. Online wellness programs, e-courses and other resources are available for a full range of personal, family or life events and issues, from stress management to parental leave support.
