Dalhousie University Law Hour featuring Marie Claude Landry, Chief Commissioner
The Dalhousie Law Hour Society provides a one hour lecture each week geared at engaging our student body and the surrounding community with presentations from prominent legal, academic, and political minds of the day. This forum provides an excellent opportunity to connect the legal issues and ideas learned in law school with how the law actually works in everyday life. Law Hour has been an institution at Dalhousie since the 1960's and has had tremendous support from students, faculty, and members of the community.
On October 19, 2017, our featured speaker will be Ms. Marie Claude Landry, Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Human Rights Commission. Throughout her career, Ms. Landry has worked towards the betterment of lives and helping the vulnerable. She was the President of Centre de santé et de services sociaux La Pommeraie as well as the local Chamber of Commerce. Her leadership and initiative has been greatly recognized including by being honoured the “Voix de l’Excellence” award, as well as the Leadership award from the Association québécoise d’établissements de santé et de services sociaux.
