Dalhousie University Law Hour featuring Christine Hanson
The Dalhousie Law Hour Society provides a one hour lecture each week geared at engaging our student body and the surrounding community with presentations from prominent legal, academic, and political minds of the day. This forum provides an excellent opportunity to connect the legal issues and ideas learned in law school with how the law actually works in everyday life. Law Hour has been an institution at Dalhousie since the 1960's and has had tremendous support from students, faculty, and members of the community.
On October 26, 2017, our featured speaker will be Ms. Christine Hanson. Ms. Hanson is the Director and CEO of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission. She has earned degrees in law, public administration, and international relations from Dalhousie University, and was awarded the “Building a Better World” alumni award in 2014 from Dalhousie. Ms. Hanson is an international lawyer and diplomat who has worked with Global Affairs and served as the Minister-Counsellor, Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C.
