Trauma-Informed Legal Services for Workplace Sexual Harassment and Assault

Cost: Registration is free. There is no Conference Call for this event.  

This interactive training will provide a basic introduction to sexualized violence in the workplace (including prevalence and patterns of victimization and perpetration,) the neurobiology of trauma and sexualized violence trauma, the medical, legal, and therapeutic choices that survivors have after being victimized, how to support a survivor through trauma-informed legal practice, as well as vicarious trauma/self and community care measures for supporters. 

Avalon Sexual Assault Centre is a feminist organization working to eliminate sexualized violence and abuse, and change the socio-political culture that fosters sexism, social injustice, and other forms of oppression. Avalon Centre provides a full spectrum of programs and services including: trauma-specific therapeutic counselling for survivors and non-offending parents and partners, a sexual assault nurse examiner program, systems-based advocacy, community education, public awareness, and professional training.
