10:00 am - 10:50 am - Challenging Credibility of the Expert Witness
11:00 am - 12:00pm - Addressing Credibility in Closing Arguments

Credibility is the foundation of every case. Learn from judges and senior counsel in live and video demonstrations as they show you how to attack and defend credibility of both lay and expert witnesses. Watch counsel carefully cross-examine witnesses, challenge expert testimony and rehabilitate credibility in closing arguments. Hear judges and counsel discuss techniques and strategies for effectively marshalling the evidence while making sure that your witnesses remain credible.

Register for the morning only, featuring demonstrations and presentations. Or, stay for the full day, including the optional afternoon learning-by-doing skills workshop on tendering exhibits and conducting impeachment techniques, where you will take part in hands-on exercises and receive individualized feedback from leading advocates from Nova Scotia. Afternoon workshop materials will be distributed electronically two weeks prior to the program. Advance preparation is required for the afternoon skills workshop.
