On behalf of WCB Nova Scotia, Venor is recruiting for a General Counsel.

The General Counsel is responsible for the provision of legal and strategic expertise, advice, and counsel on a broad range of legal issues to protect and advance the legal interests of WCB of Nova Scotia. They will provide leadership and direction to the Legal Services team and oversee all legal aspects of the organization to ensure that WCB Nova Scotia conducts operations and business activities following the Workers’ Compensation Act, regulations, and other applicable legislation related to the operations of WCB Nova Scotia.

About You

As the ideal candidate, you will possess a university degree in Law, and a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a relevant field with at least five (5) years in progressive leadership/management roles. You also bring a practicing insured status with the Nova Scotia Barristers Society (or you are eligible to become so). Experience in the workers’ compensation field and an in-depth knowledge of the Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation Act would be considered an asset.
